How we modernized a michigan based nonprofit’s IT systems and infrastructure so they could serve more children with their programs and initiatives.
This nonprofit has been helping kids with unique and special needs lead happier and healthier lives in the southeastern Michigan region for over 90 years.
Like most nonprofits, they were relying on volunteer IT support. However, as their programming grew, they needed more comprehensive, streamlined and professional IT services to allow their lean team to serve more children even faster while also ensuring the security of their staff, donors and board members. We helped them do that.
How We Did It:
We installed and upgraded their technology hardware and software, which included adding multiple monitors to each workstation to allow for better multitasking, which is essential for lean teams. We also set up and streamlined their videoconferencing capabilities, increased their cybersecurity, installed an on-site security surveillance camera and an access control system for their office. Lastly, we installed and set up their new VoIP business phone system.
Results:
Overall, they able to more easily communicate with the families and children they serve, the donors who support their programs and congregate with their guiding board members. Specifically, they were able to get programs and services to children in need faster than ever before. They were able to continue to function and serve during the pandemic and they were able to ensure the on-site and online security of all those involved with their organization. which enabled them to continue to offer their programs to the children they serve during the pandemic. Lastly, they described the professional level IT infrastructure and systems install, upgrades and support as a “game changer” for their operations.
How we helped this local healthcare provider build out their IT and security infrastructure and systems from the ground up.
This multi-specialty surgery center focuses on meeting its clients’ orthopedic and neurosurgery needs.
Like all new healthcare centers, they needed to make sure that their technology was integrated properly and securely into their business and physical operations throughout the entire build-out.

How we helped the Children’s Foundation transform their IT infrastructure and systems so they could operate more efficiently and help more children.
The Children’s Foundation is a statewide, community based organization that provides services for families, children, adolescents and young adults helping them on the pathway to successful, healthy and fulfilling lives.
They were relying on IT services and a facility that weren’t supporting their success in fulfilling their mission. They decided to move to a new facility and to integrate technology and security into every facet of their workflow going forward. We helped them map out all of their IT needs so they could work effectively on a day to day basis That included all the natural things like email and the web.
How We Did It:
We helped them create a plan for all their cybersecurity, physical security and IT needs. Then, we implemented the plan which included, upgrading their hardware, converting them to more laptops and migrating them to the cloud.
Results:
Overall, they’re able to work much more quickly and effectively now, which helps them serve their communities at a higher level. Things actually work. They now have a high performing and robust internet. They’re able to work remotely and their IT systems are more secure and stable. Also, they can continue to scale their organization to serve in more children.
How we helped this manufacturer scale their IT infrastructure and systems to adapt and optimize their massive growth.
This large, multi-plant manufacturer specializes in aluminum extrusion, fabrication and painting. They serve a range of deliverables for both industrial and commercial applications.
They were having issues related to companies trying to accommodate high scale growth. They were experiencing expensive machine downtime that was costing them an average of $2,000 an hour. Also, their data was not communicating in a timely manner across all of their plants, which lead to some orders being run multiple times causing them to lose even more money. They needed reliable and fast helpdesk support since they ran 24/7. Lastly, large parts of their IT infrastructure and systems hadn’t been updated in almost a decade.
They were looking to improve their communications, performance and security so they could scale seamlessly as they grew.
How We Did It:
Our first step was to run an assessment of their current IT systems to better understand what gaps, risks and issues were at play. Then, we created a plan to address these hurdles. Due to the age and manner in which their infrastructure and systems were maintained, their infrastructure required a major overhaul to help them meet their business goals. This included new network and computer hardware, cabling and migrating them to the cloud.
We also informed them of the benefits of the most current software available that would better serve their needs than the excel spreadsheets and outdated programs they had been using. In addition, we helped them with their website services and physical security needs including video surveillance cameras. Furthermore, we offered them 24/7 helpdesk support so that we could quickly address any issues and prevent expensive downtimes.
Put them on the path to put everything in the cloud, were working on spreadsheets and older software but needed to update them to compete so switched them to better software and hardware. Gave them all the options to choose from so that we could find the right fit. We helped them understand the value proposition of hardware and software.
Have maintained an internal IT person, they are able to add lots of value and speed for the company because we’re talking care of the daily issues, IT operations and security.
Results:
After the major overhaul and cloud migration, their plants are operational all the time. If there is a minor hiccup it never snowballs into a situation where employees are down and not working for hours, which saves them money. Also, now that their IT infrastructure and systems are fully optimized, they’re able to communicate faster and more efficiently. Also, their internal IT personal contributes more value than ever because we handle the day-to-day issues, leaving more room on their plate to attend to their top IT priorities.
